XEL (XEL)

The Elastic Project (XEL) is a blockchain based project aimed at developing the first secure, decentralized, trustless, programmable supercomputer. A decentralized supercomputer is a computer that operates at or very near the highest operational rate possible for computers by combining the powers of multiple computers across a network. Elastic “miners” (node operators) can give away their computational resources in return for elastic coins, and their reward relies on the amount of computational resources each miner has to contribute when compared to the other contributing miners who are participating in solving the computational problem. Additionally, individuals and companies can purchase computational power supplied by a range of GPUs and CPUs across the network and pay in elastic coins.
